The UK Prime Minister plans to press supporting countries to supply Ukraine with further advanced missile systems to strike Moscow's positions during a meeting in Britain on Friday.

The prime minister is set to welcome Ukraine's leader the Ukrainian head of state alongside the so-called "group of committed partners", consisting of more than 20 of supporting nations who have pledged to offer Kyiv security guarantees once a ceasefire is brokered.

The Ukrainian leader has been pleading for an extended period for more long-range weapons from the West, a move that Russia has stated would intensify the hostilities.
